Everything about our floating jetties

Floating pontoons have quite a wide range of uses. For example as a bridge, walkway, fishing pier, jetty, terrace or boathouse. The pontoons can be used as a recreational pontoon, but also as a pontoon in an industrial environment such as shipping.

In this article we take a closer look at the different types of floating jetties and their properties.

Jettys

We exclusively use Walcon Marine products for our jetties. Walcon Marine guarantees excellent quality through 50 years of experience. This company's jetties are located in more than 30 different countries and are completely custom-made. Walcon Marine supplies two types of jetties.

Walcon System 21

System 21 is a particularly strong pontoon system that has been used for 40 years. These floating pontoons are used for marinas and industrial ports in coastal waters, rivers and inland waterways.

The welded steel frame and modular parts ensure a durable and flexible pontoon. System 21 is also particularly easy to maintain.

The floating jetty is equipped with two cable ducts with covers. This means that maintenance can be carried out without removing the deck parts.

System 21 can be completely configured to your wishes and requirements. You can choose from plastic or fiberglass concrete floats.

The pontoon is supplied with hardwood deck parts as standard. But deck parts made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP), hot-dip galvanized steel, composite or another type of wood are also possible.

Walcon System 2000

The 2000 type jetties are more suitable for calm waters. The aluminum frame is lightweight and very flexible to set up. All designs are possible.

As standard, System 2000 is equipped with hardwood deck parts, but glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP), hot-dip galvanized steel, composite or another type of wood are also possible. Floats are available in both plastic and concrete.

Floating terraces

Our floating terraces are perfect to use as an extension of your garden or houseboat, or as a fishing pier. The hardwood deck gives a natural look.

A floating terrace is also ideal for catering establishments located along a quay or canal. The way to welcome more guests.

Our terraces are supplied in six different standard sizes. Would you prefer a different size? Customization is also no problem.

Wooden pontoons

We usually make wooden deck parts from hardwood, but other types of wood are also possible. Hardwood provides a beautiful and natural look.

For safety, the deck parts are provided with grooves, so that you always have grip. The hardwood deck parts can also be walked on with bare feet. As the deck parts wear, the risk of splinters arises.

Wooden deck parts last approximately 10 to 15 years. Do you want the look of wood, but with a longer lifespan? Then go for composite.

Plastic (GRP) pontoons

GRP stands for glass fiber reinforced plastic. These deck parts are especially interesting for heavy industry. Think of offshore, petrochemicals and shipping.

The deck parts are chemically resistant and weather resistant, among other things. They have a long lifespan and require little maintenance. Due to the strength of the parts, they can withstand large spans.

If desired, we provide the deck parts with a grid layer for extra friction. This is especially useful in places where liquids are used. To give the deck parts the right look, they are available in all RAL colors.

The different types of deck parts are widely applicable. We mainly apply deck parts to jetties and finger piers. But the deck parts are also suitable for walkways, fishing piers, floating terraces and bridges.
